BJJ Fundamentals

Starting March we are offering our members an opportunity to fine tune the fundamentals of BJJ. Each month we will be focusing on a separate technique and its variations.

We want to ensure that our students have a full understanding of the standard techniques commonly used in our sport. This program is designed to focus on self improvement through practice and repetition and is beneficial to all no matter what your skill level is.

Fundamentals we will cover include:

  • Body Movement: Shrimping and Bridging
  • Positional Awareness: Guard and Dominant Positions
  • Basic Escapes: Escaping Dominant Positions and Submissions
  • Grips and Holds: Basic Gi Grips and Breakfalling Techniques
  • Submissions: Armbars from Mount Position
  • Basic Sweeps: Elevator Sweep from Closed Guard
  • Flow Drills: Connecting Techniques in a Fluid Sequence
  • Positional Sparring: with Emphasis on Technique
