On October 14th, the community of Langley, BC experienced a one-of-a-kind event as Flash Academy proudly unveiled the grand opening of Bibiano Fernandes’ new academy. The event was attended by an all-star lineup of martial arts legends, which included Renzo Gracie, Demetrious Johnson, Bibiano Fernandes, and Lucas Pinheiro. With over 200 enthusiastic attendees, the afternoon event was a memorable and incredible experience!
Four World Champions – One Exciting Event
The event brought together not just one, but four world champions in the field of martial arts.
Renzo Gracie, the world-renowned Jiu-Jitsu coach and ADCC Hall of Fame inductee, made a special appearance all the way from his world-class martial arts school, the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York. His wealth of knowledge and experience in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA was an invaluable asset to the event.
Demetrious Johnson, a 15-time World MMA Champion and current ONE Championship Flyweight World Champion, demonstrated his incredible skills and shared insights into his successful career. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with him one-on-one, learning new techniques on the mats. Fans can continue to interact with him through his exclusive YouTube channel, ‘Mighty Gaming,’
Lucas Pinheiro, hailing from the vibrant city of Manaus, Brazil, showcased his immense talent in Jiu-Jitsu. He represents Atos Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary mentorship of Andre Galvao and has an impressive list of victories, including prestigious titles at the IBJJF American and Brazilian Nationals and the esteemed IBJJF Pan American Championships. Of course, the man of the hour, Bibiano Fernandes, the founder of Flash Academy and an 11-time ONE Bantamweight World Champion, was the center of attention. Fernandes’ remarkable achievements and dedication to the sport were celebrated, and his excitement for the opening of his new academy was shared with attendees of the event.
A Day of Learning and Fun
The event was not just about watching these legends in action but also about learning from them. Special Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) techniques were instructed, allowing attendees to gain insights from the best in the business. The opportunity to learn from such esteemed professionals was a priceless experience for everyone present.
Attendees enjoyed delicious snacks and beverages as they mingled with the champs.
